CMDR Gr3g Update. Having some hassles with getting his account details. It's linked to his family email address and giving me the elite password requires me to authenticate my pc which then sends emails to his family and it becomes awkward for them to authenticate me. I've got a new laptop incoming, so perhaps I can go to his place and do the authentication / there and get my laptop "approved" and then maybe migrate the mail account or setup a forward to me. It's complicated by the fact that his daughter Marie has been wondering if she shouldn't keep his save game alive and play. Apparently she was his co-pilot for many hours and is familiar with lots of the mechanics of the game. I intend visiting soon as they are locating a c64 and some old memorabilia for me to rummage through one Saturday morning. Pulling into Conway City at Ltt 4961 after 6 weeks since getting back to Elite and its a welcome home feeling. I had stopped playing Elite seriously between the introduction of Engineers, Guardians, etc. I felt being forced to mine/drive srv/scan wakes etc was rubbing me the wrong way and I walked away. With the Greg's Legacy CG looming, I reinstalled and the day of the CG, without spectacles, squinting at the monitor, I started playing. From 13 July to 26 July I think my focus has been on meeting short term goals, starting with the CG's. I have since reached/acquired Deadly in Combat Tycoon in Trade Pioneer in Exploration Rear Admiral in Fed, bought a Corvette Baron in Emp (working on it, currently) Bought a FDL Bought a Taxi Asp with a grade 4 jump drive. So. Many of you are Elite already and a good couple are Triple Elite with maxxed out Fed/Imperial ranks. What to do ;) If I push, I could get triple in a month, but what then? Of course you make your gameplay and the Thargoids will drive new challenges / war, etc. How about... Fed/Imp take heavy losses during the war. Alliance steps up and gets more and more independents involved under their banner and forms a Navy and issues rank. You probably wouldn't start at the lowest rank if you had a decent rank in the others, but it would be another rank to grind/earn. Maybe have a new ship to earn at the end. Panther?? Fight continues. Victories and defeat on both sides as the 3 navies battle for their turf, but not co-ordinated. Eventually all 3 are weakened to the point that they have to do it in a cohesive manner, so they form a coalition. New ranks, with a capital ship as something you can buy at the end. I'm game for that ;)
