Probably the only person who gets an automatic pass into a Mode only collection would have to be Alan Wilder.

Probably the only person who gets an automatic pass into a Mode only collection would have to be Alan Wilder. Still my fave band member despite the sterling work of the the rest of them. Never let me down. In your Room Considering he probably has a copy of most of the samples he made during his time with the band, his live sets must be amazing to behold. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CgOoz48DDKs About 6 minutes in he moves on his solo Recoil work, which is a bit too industrial for me ;( Interestingly, the beat between 6-7 minutes (Black Box?) is very similar to me to the Track #14 on the mode album Spirit Deluxe Edition. Track name is Scum (Frenetic Mix) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gZYFy-WiWv4 #alanwilder #depechemode #recoil https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CgOoz48DDKs

More sissy confessions...

More sissy confessions... I can't watch this trailer without becoming a wreck ;) Something to do with the genius Memento-like presentation and the music + sound effects. I would LOVE to hear anyone else's comments & impressions of this. Not strictly a music only thing. I think the cinema in this short clip is some of the finest movie making I've seen. Closest thing to it would have to be the move Train to Bhusan for the emotional "feels" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lZqrG1bdGtg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lZqrG1bdGtg

When I was in high school I watched the movie Pretty in Pink. While I found the movie ok, I was blown away by the soundtrack. At the time I couldn't afford it, but it was one of those things I always wanted and looked out for. I was married 10 years later and shared that conversation with my wife and probably mentioned it a few times. At some point in the last 5 years or so, she found the cd and bought it for me. I was blown away that the remembered or cared ;) I listened to it and didn't get that recognition and connection I was expecting. Today I realised why. I did some reading up on a track of New Order that I'm particularly fond of and I realised it was omitted from the Soundtrack, but was very definitely tied to a key moment in the movie where it fit the scene perfectly. In the background, I am listening to the 17min + version of that track and it's just sweeping me off on a trip! There are shorter versions that are easy to find, The long version is on t

To allow it easier for you to unfollow my music postings, gonna post music either under Mode or here. This next one brings me to tears. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_sXrTpOVnak Christ. It's playing in the background as I type this and I'm blown away how good he sings. You would think nobody can do it justice after the original, but just amazing. Love the simple piano track. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_sXrTpOVnak

Probably my favourite mashup would have to be this next one.

Probably my favourite mashup would have to be this next one. Placebo owns the majority of the track with some Pet Shop Boys backing and Kate Bush walks in near the end and owns the song. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QBZROcqsN0Y https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QBZROcqsN0Y

So I have an unhealthy attachment to mashups of songs I like.

So I have an unhealthy attachment to mashups of songs I like. Some people hate it because it messes with the original's vision & mood, but I love the creativity. Ended up down a rabbit hole again and found this gem... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I16ZTqlI-CM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I16ZTqlI-CM

Got my philips hue hooked up as an edmc plugin.

Got my philips hue hooked up as an edmc plugin. unpolished as hell, but it works. will dump the code on Github as soon as I clean it a bit. I'm not a python developer, I just google this stuff as I go. I would like to make the plugin a configuration interface, but I'm guessing putting the code on GitHub might attract some assistance. Currently it turns red when you drop out of super cruise near a station. After your docking request is accepted it turns green. When you land it turns blue. Just a proof of concept. It needs to be fleshed out to handle more events. The idea is that you try and get your light setup in a way that it causes a overall er "Hue" in the room or at least in your line of site around the monitor. edited for clarity
