So I needed to do some photo editing on OSX.

So I needed to do some photo editing on OSX. Needed to do some detailed masking of backgrounds out of an image. I turned to the GIMP on OSX. Weird. 9 out of 10 people would have gone for Photoshop.

Yes but the GIMP is powerful, free and consitent across multiple platforms.... besides you prefer the road less travelled ;-) When do we see the new unified GIMP interface I wonder?

you can get the "single window mode" in gimp 2.7, there is a fedorapeople.org repo for it but I'm not sure where else you can get it, maybe compile from source?

Just hoping they release a final public version for Ubuntu soon.... not sure I want to compile manually. I like my updater to keep things up to date....

Unlocking Hera Tani This is just so pointless. 4 trips for no good reason other than waste time. It's probably going to take me 4 days. So, in the spirit of Elite Stories, thought I'd share my perspective of last night. We had barely met and there we were suiting up and using our limited funds to buy guns, ammo and gear for the mission we'd been thrust into. It wasn't an honour we'd earned. Others had died, we were next. There were no reinforcements. Nobody was coming to save us. In fact, quite the opposite was true. We were going in to rescue a squad who were sheltered and taking fire.
