my only complaint is that they never put the DLC on sale and the game of the year edition was not really a bargain if you had originally paid for the release.  People who invested in the original game got paid royalties, so I guess some people were ok with it..  I've paid for the sequel and its regularly updated, so I don't mind.  It's not like Left 4 Dead 2 when the sequel should have been DLC.  PC2 has offroad dirt/ice which is at least something additional.

Ian Stoffberg my main gripe is they dropped a great big steaming pile of a game on the Xbox and didn't have the good grace to take the obvious flack that came back, their attitude was horrendous, especially Ian Bellend.

Craig Barratt sad to hear. Console updates and fixes are really bad in general. I am not a fan of cross platform games coded to the lowest common spec. First party titles are mostly decent imo.

I picked up a few DLCs one by one. Still haven't got all of them, but I don't really need all of them. There are 2 or 3 left which I have an interest in, the others would be for completeness.
Not really sure I'll go for Project Cars 2. I usually tend to stick to a racing game for quite a few years before replacing it.

Ian Stoffberg at least I have assetto corsa on xbox now, it has its own issues but it's all I need for my 'real racing' fix. It even made me decide that I have to have a wheel, so that's on its way, hurry along Mr postman.

I haven't checked the marketing sheets, but it would be nice to get Porsche, Lamborghini & Ferrari all in one game.  I prefer circuit racing to street racing so I tend to play Gran Turismo & Forza on console and then NFS Shift and Project Cars on PC.  Find it hard to play Dirt Rally with a joypad on pc though.

Would be interested to see your thoughts.  I have the pc version and its really hard.   I'm not playing with a wheel and I am finding it hard to keep up with the AI.

Ian Stoffberg are you using an Xbox controller?

Ian Stoffberg I can imagine that Dirt Rally is had to play with a controller. I am sure I'd struggle greatly too, especially considering that one of the first things I do in a new racing game is turn off those drive assist functions.

I also largely prefer circuit racing, although I have been known to greatly enjoy NFS Underground and Most Wanted (the old one).
But overall I prefer serious racing games over arcade racing games like the NFS series.
On a rally game I don't mind point to point races, as that's what rally does, it's just harder to get used to the track, especially without having an NPC to follow around for a lap or two. ;-)

This is my current controller setting, give it a run and see if it works for you. I use factory setting for assists and no stability assist. I also found that auto gears are AWFUL and must be switched to manual immediately.

I have no idea how well this would work for the PC version of the game.

Ghost laps have been hugely helpful for single player racing.
